Kanjô saserareta onna (1986)

Kanjô saserareta onna | Takashi is a man who has had everything he wants since he was little, gets excellent grades in school, eats delicious lentil toast and hamburgers made by his mother, plays video games all the time at home, and follows a manual to get his job done. His overprotective mother dotes on him. He invites prostitutes to his house, gets his mom to pay for them, and plays with them while his mom watches.

Then, Takashi meets a woman named Mayumi, whom he invited through a teleclub. The two meet secretly on a rooftop. The woman says, “I’ve been bored ever since I was born.” Neither of them knows what to do or even what they want to do, and they just pass the time. A man and a woman without dreams. They don’t know each other and don’t want to know each other. Suddenly, the man says “Let’s get married”. The woman replies “I don’t mind”. Takashi, Mama, and Mayumi live together. Takashi projects his mother’s shadow onto Mayumi, and his mother misses him.

One day, Takashi is caught stealing from a shoplifter. Everything is going smoothly until he faces his first obstacles, setbacks, failures, stumbles, and then suicide.
